the bottom of the image is actually the right side of the door

on the inside one must twist the little knob on the doorknob to lock it. it a typical bedroom/bathroom lock. but because one must twist the part to arm the lock, not just push the button back out, i cannot seem to open it. i cannot find any diagram for this type of lock, leaving a first-time lock picker blind. the picture below is on my side (but the picture is sideways) and i do not know what brand it is

insert a thin blade flat screwdriver and turn it. A hardware store may have a special tool for this. Recommend hanging it in a closet nearby.
