my daughter needs a lock for her school locker but i do not have the combination to the lock any more got lost in one of our moves is there a way we can relearn this combination it is a master lock or do i just need to break down and buy her a new one

1. Best bet is to buy a new lock.

2. There'a a good purple paperback on picking combo padlocks. It's not as fearsome as it looks. At first glance it looks like there are 40x40x40 =64000. In reality there are either (10x10 -10 =90) or (12x12 - 12= 132) trial combos. You get the last number by trying each (of 10 or 12) "gate" after dialing the first 2 numbers. On average, you'll hit it half way through the possible number of combinations. Maybe a couple of hours work and buying the purple book.
